BBQ Chicken Sandwiches

I made these the other day to take to Lexi's soccer game for dinner and they turned out so good. I love the shredded carrots in them. Everyone was drooling over them at the game so we had to share! Good thing I brought extras! I found this recipe on familyfun.com.

3 chicken breasts
1/2 c. shredded carrots
1/3 c. bbq sauce
3 tbls. ranch dressing
8 hamburger buns
fresh spinach
avacado

Grill chicken breasts on the bbq until done, brushing with bbq sauce while they cook. Shred, and place in large bowl. Add carrots, bbq sauce, and ranch dressing and stir to combine. Spoon into buns and top with spinach leaves and avacado, if desired.

The Newest Fam Pictures...

SO , I FINALLY have a computer again so I can catch up on some blogging! I have to be honest, though, it's been kind of nice to have an excuse not to blog. It gets overwhelming to me but I feel guilty if I don't do it. Computers just aren't my thing and I don't enjoy being on it but I do like keeping in touch with everyone and having a way to share my family with people who I don't get to see very often...and so I blog!

There IS a story behind this family picture, as there usually is...

I was running late, as usuall, but I had my kids all dressed and looking cute and was working on getting things ready to go when I hear Lexi yelling, "NO, LYDIA, NO!!" I yelled back, "What is she doing?" Lexi said, "SHE"S PLAYING IN THE TOILET!" I replied, "IS IT FLUSHED?" Lexi, "NOPE!" So I run to her rescue and find her with a lufa (sp?) in hand and giving herself a bath in pee water (thankfully it was just pee!) Fully clothed, hair done and all. She was soaked head to toe and I had no time left to deal with it. I threw her pee clothes in the dryer cuz I didn't have enough time to wash them first, the whole time yelling, "YOU GUYS HAVE TO FLUSH THE TOILET!!"

OH, the joy of family pictures! It's not very often we get all of DJ"s family together, though, so it was really fun to see everyone again and spend Christmas with them!

The traveling wig!

This wig started out as my Halloween costume but it somehow made it's way onto everybody elses head! This was probably the scariest part of the night!

Halloween was super fun this year. The kids were so into it and Lydia was just thrilled to be there in the middle of it all! We had a party at DJ's mom's a week before, then spent Halloween at our friend's, the Pearsons, trick or treating and eating ourselfs sick.
This Halloween was a mile stone, however, because it was the first time in our 7 1/2 years marriage that I have been able to persuade DJ to dress up for Halloween!!!!!

Lydia's #1!!!

Oh, it's so hard to believe my baby is one already! It kills me how fast time flies by so I just have to remember to to enjoy every single minute as it comes. Lydia...where do I begin?! She has been my little miracle from the very beginning and I have to keep telling myself that when she is about to drive me insane! She is developing a very strong personality, and with her, it's either her way or the highway. She definitely knows what she wants, it's just a matter of communicating it. Although, she is quite proficient at nodding yes and no and usually gets her way just because it's so cute! She makes us all laugh with her silly faces and her imitations of the things we do. Even though it's such a relief when she goes to bed, we are all so excited when we hear her awake in her crib and then it's a race to see who can get to her the first! (she also has the most amazing bed head!)

Lydia's Likes:
-ice cream
-blowing kisses
-wrestling with her dad
-playing outside
-swinging
-making a mess in Lexi's room
-rice
-doggies and kitties
-dolls
-giving mommy juicy kisses
-necklaces

Girls just wanna have fun...

Bryson asked me the other day what we do all day while he and daddy are gone. Here you go! Farm Country at Thankgiving Point, tea parties and kitchen drums! Love my girls!!

Running Fools!!

The Spanish Fork Half was Christina and my first half marathon 4 years ago. Four half marathons, one marathon and three kids (between the two of us) later we decided to run it again! This time we did WAYYY better! She and I even placed in our age division and got medals! Even though our times were the same, she got second place and I got third but, as you can see from the picture, she definitley came in before me! Christina and I have been running together consistantly for over 4 years and I don't know what I would do with out her. She is my best friend and my motivation. We have spent HOURS AND HOURS running together so we definitely have no secrets between us! We have so much in common that we're pretty sure we were sisters in the pre exsistance! How lucky am I to have such an AWESOME running buddy! I really couldn't do it without her! Our husbands and kids are best buds too so we all just have so much fun together. Love you guys!
p.s. did you notice my race number? Sweet!

School kids...

Bryson is a big first grader now! He is doing so well and loving school! I was so worried about the all day thing but turns out I had nothing to worry about. Everyday when I ask him what he did in school he goes through the lunch menu and then what he did at recess! He is learning, though, because he aced his first spelling test last week-even the bonus words! He's very social and has tons of friends. Every morning, he gets up and dressed and out the door to meet his friends in the cul-de-sac and they all ride their bikes to school together. Last week I was sick and he got up, got Lydia out of bed, got dressed, fixed himself some cereal, brushed his teeth and left for school all by himself! I'm so lucky to have such a good, smart boy!

I am doing joy school this year with Lexi. There are six other kids in the group and all of us moms take turns every week with all the kids. Lexi LOVES going. It's only twice a week but she wishes it was every day. It so good for her to have something to do because she is SO BORED while Bryson is at school! She is also starting ballet next week which is totally cute.
Such a fun little girl!
